Estranged Spaces
Often times, we become arrested, perplexed, or fixated with the complexity of landscapes transformed by the effects of time, place, inhabitants and memory. Landscapes which act as symbols of both familiarity and estrangement. The fragility of land as a remnant of what once was, once suffered, once flourished. Exterior and interior spaces embody presence and agency. Blurred boundaries between home and the unknown, which strives to make seen the unseen. This is the pulse of our works in “Estranged Spaces”, which draws from cross-cultural examinations of time, place, culture, identity and community. A demonstration of artistry intended to inspire discourse about the trajectory of environmental changes, and its correlation to past and present existence.
