Culture Days – September 28th & 29th

Creative Blueprint partners with Foundery, Artists’ Health Alliance and the Canadian Diabetes Association to bring Culture Days to The Foundery Buildings!

On Saturday September 28th and Sunday September 29th,
we will gather at Foundery to create a community mosaic mural!

Each participant will paint a unique panel to contribute to our collaborative installation.

You can also visit the Inspire & Empower exhibition in the CB Gallery!
This 7th anniversary exhibit features work by 13 talented local artists.

Join us between 11:00am – 4:00pm each day to learn more about diabetes,
and to send a colourful message of hope to our community!

Thus Drew Zarathustra – Sept. 4th to Sept. 15th

THUS DREW ZARATHUSTRA: New Drawings from Stephanie Kervin

On display in the CB Gallery from September 4th to September 15th

OPEN 12:00PM – 6:00PM Daily     FREE ADMISSION

Intervening in an historic object, “Thus Drew Zarathustra” mixes past and present through imagery and context.  Created on the pages of vintage book, this series explores content and meaning with colour and ink.

“Thus Drew Zarathustra” builds from Nietzsche’s original writings and continues to questions ideas of religion, self and eternal recurrence.

WEDNESDAY JULY 17TH WORKSHOP FULL

INSTRUCTOR: STEPHANIE KERVIN

This workshop introduces students to the basics of portrait creation.  Focus will be placed on sound proportions, basic shading and handling the features.  Students will also get a brief introduction to portraiture in history.  Students will have the opportunity to put new ideas into their work and will leave with a completed portrait.

 

WEDNESDAY JULY 24TH  REGISTRATION CLOSED

STENCIL PRINTMAKING
INSTRUCTOR: PAMELA DODDS

Affordable, non-toxic printmaking techniques are introduced.  Students create representational or abstract forms to be inked and printed in original compositions.  Creativity and experimentation are encouraged! Students will leave with a small series of completed prints.

 

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 7TH – REGISTRATION CLOSED

Create engaging and humourous illustrations that inform AND entertain. Students will be taken through the entire process of creating successful infographics. Visual sketching, refinement and final illustrations steps will be taught.

ANYONE CAN DRAW WORKSHOP
INSTRUCTOR: HEESEUNG KO

Anyone Can Draw is a workshop for anyone with or without basic drawing skills. Students are encouraged to explore materials including pencils, charcoals, pastels and other dry drawing materials. Students will also be encouraged to visualize and convert ideas to form while gaining confidence in visual language. Imagination is the key to success in this exploratory workshop!
